Tour de Yorkshire, Tour de Weavers

The Tour De Yorkshire will start in the East Riding of Yorkshire in Beverley for both the mens as well as the women racing. This stage will eventually work its way inland to end the day in Doncaster covering a total combined distance of over 300km or 143 miles. This is quite a distance to cover in a day for anyone but these athletes will be doing these kind of distances for the next 3 consecutive days taking in much of the breath taking scenery that can only be found right here in Yorkshire. However, the riders won't be able to take this in for long as they will be concentrating on doing their best.

After finishing in Doncaster on the 3rd May the race will resume on the second day (4th May) from Barnsley & continue winding its way through Yorkshire passing many Bars & Restaurants along the way no doubt all packed out with supporters as well ask fans of the riders & cycling enthusiast alike. The fourth day of racing sees the athletes start in the historic town of Richmond, North Yorkshire. This stage promises to be something of a spectacle in racing as this stage has only 2 major hill climbs that will test the riders (Sutton Bank & Silpho). Other than this much of the race on this day will cover level ground, this promises to produce some high speed racing as well as some interesting tactics from the riders. The fourth & final day of the racing in the Tour De Yorkshire 2018 sees the race start from the historic town of Halifax. Offering 6 different hill climbs (& of course downhills) this 190km race will see some of the hardest racing from the athletes yet. The route from Halifax to Leeds passes through a number of smaller towns and villages that are all quite remarkable for their own reasons. The route will see the race leave Halifax & travel through: Luddenden Foot (Home of At The Weavers Bar & Italian Restaurant), Hebden Bridge, Skipton & Bolton Abbey before finally reaching Middlebam nr Leyburn (North Yorkshire) & turning south through Masham & Pately Bridge & finally ending the days racing as well as the tour in Leeds.

Although we are unable to sponsor the Tour De Yorkshire At The Weavers the Home of Homemade Pizza & Pasta Halifax is pleased to tell all our customers past, present & further that you will be able to get a front row seat here at our Bar & Restaurant to watch the race fly by. So that you don’t miss a moment of the action we will be hoping to have a pop up bar outside as well as street food available. The perfect place to watch the cycle race is right here in Halifax’s best restaurant for homemade pizza and pasta. We are able to offer a unique viewing experience owing to our location along the route. You will be able to see the race approach, pass & depart on its way towards Mytholmroyd. The riders will be passing us at some speed so so getting here early and getting that front row view is highly recommended.

The final stage of Tour De Yorkshire will end in Leeds after starting in Beverley 3 days earlier & after passing some of Yorkshires best and most scenic locations. No matter where you watch the race over its 711km or 442mile distance if you are in Halifax the best place to come and see this once in a life time event live is right here at At The Weavers.
